So it's week three of the Joy the Baker Cookbook Spotlight and Cook-Off...This week we could choose any recipe from the book we wanted to make. I chose the Pineapple Malted Milkshake! I guess you could say I took the easy road...since I chose a no-bake recipe, but it sure did taste good!
Now I didn't take the time to measure the ingredients...who does that for a milkshake!
Just Dump it in! But if you need a recipe to follow...it's below.
Pineapple Malted Milkshake
adapted from the Joy the Baker Cookbook
1 cup low-fat milk
2 cups vanilla ice cream
3 tbs malted milk powder
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup fresh pineapple
In a blender combine all the ingredients. Blend until thick and creamy.
Makes one 3-cup milkshake

Yes!!! I've been wanting to make this one since I got the book but I'm having a hard time finding the malted milk powder. Once I find it I'm definitely making this. Pinning!!
ReplyDeleteKim...I found the malted milk powder at Wal-mart.
DeleteYou know what? This one one of the first things I tried from this book since I'm in love with malt and fresh pineapple. Looking at your photos makes me wish I wasn't out of ice cream. And pineapple. Sigh...yummy choice :D
ReplyDeleteI am glad you picked this recipe, because it is one my family will love!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried pineapple in a milkshake before. Yummy
ReplyDeleteNever had this or thought about the combination of flavors before, but that doesn't stop me from craving it---great choice!
ReplyDeleteI love all the wacky combinations that Joy has in her book--lots of fun to try. The milkshakes look good!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of a pineapple milkshake! Tip: keep the core of the pineapple, cut it into chunks and throw it in a baggie in the freezer to put in smoothies.
ReplyDeleteWOW, this sounds great. I love anything malted...
ReplyDeleteNice choice and fantastic pictures! I need to try more milk shakes, I probably have about 1 per year :( Your inspiring me to increase my intake.
ReplyDeleteTake care..
I love smoothies, milkshakes, frozen juices, all of it. This would make my day. YUM
