Here is a easy recipe I know you will enjoy!
Here is what you will need...a box of Devil's Food cake mix,
a bag of Rolo's, 2 eggs, and a 1/3 cup oil.
Then unwrap the Rolos...
Can you guess how many I ate?
Then mix together the dough...
Roll it around the Rolos...
And bake...
And the finished cookies...
give them a dusting of powdered sugar if you like...
Chocolate Caramel Rolo Cookies
1- 18.25 oz box Devil's Food cake mix
2 eggs
1/3 cup vegetable oil
about 30 Rolo candies, unwrapped
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix together the cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil. Using a scoop, scoop out a ball of dough about half the size of a golf ball (about a tablespoon). Slightly flatten the dough in your hand and wrap a Rolo candy in the center. Roll the dough into balls and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes and place on wire racks to cool. When cool dust with powdered sugar. Makes around 30 cookies give or take a few.
No way, Bo! I will not be making these cookies. #1. I would have to buy an extra package of Rolos as I would have eaten the first package while stirring the cake mix together. #2. If I did manage to get them made, I'd hide them away so that only I could enjoy them! So, no. Well, maybe!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Oh yes! These are like those chocolate crinkle cookies but wayyyyy better! They look awesome, what a great photo Bo!
ReplyDeleteI have missed your posts, Bo!. Wow, I will have to try this one...
ReplyDeleteThese look and sound amazing! Do you wrap ONE flattened dough ball around a piece of candy? If so, then....it flattens out when it bakes? Thx!
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah...these are winners for sure. I can't resist a cookie when there is caramel involved. That top photo sold me!
ReplyDeleteMom2schauzers,
ReplyDeleteThat's right...they will flatten out as they cook.
These cookies look scrummy, Bo!
ReplyDeletei want some, it make me drooling...have a nice weekend Bo...
ReplyDeleteEasy peasy and delicious-just the way I like my cookies! I really like the crackly texture. Yum!

ReplyDeleteThey look delicious, but the only part of these ingredients I suspect I can get here are the eggs and the vegetable oil :((( Diane
ReplyDeleteMy friend's daughter moved to Memphis to college and upon her return to Dallas, made some pretzels with rolos on top; now I know she would adore your cookies! Will forward the post to her.
ReplyDeleteI love both of the main ingredients, so these would be perfect for our Holiday parties!
ReplyDeleteDecadent!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy the recipe clearly mentions that the Rollos must be unwrapped... God knows I might not have thought of that! ;)
Wow! This is my kind of recipe! LOL I am so going to steal this one! :)
ReplyDeleteComplete chocolaty caramel goodness! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteThose look great!
ReplyDeleteI love that oozy caramel peeking out of the cookie in that first photo! Have you heard of "Bake it in a Cake"? This is like "Bake it in a Cookie"!
ReplyDeletewow I love those cookies! They look heavenly with soft caramel.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bo. This recipe really looks very easy.
ReplyDeletehey bo, are u sure 2 tbs.? if so it doesn't make that many cookies...i did one pan w/the 2 tbs. and only got 9 cookies... then i downsized and what was left of the cake mixture made 6 cookies.
ReplyDeleteChrissy,
ReplyDeleteI just double checked and the scoop I used holds about 1 and 3/4 tbs water...so only slightly smaller than 2tbs. You should have gotten somewhere around 30 cookies. The dough should be about half the size of a golf ball...Sounds like you mad frisbee...I hope the recipe wasn't a total disaster.
Oh my gosh, how did I miss this post yesterday when I was here?? Rolo cookies?? DOUBLE YUM!!
ReplyDeleteI don't do sweets much but these are calling me. That and I have that stupid "you can roll a rollo......" jingle stuck in my head now.
ReplyDeleteI love rolos! Awesome job making cookies with them. I love it.
ReplyDeleteGooey and delicious, great job Bo!
